North Orissa University was established on 13th July 1998. Under Sections 2(f) and 12(B) of UGC Act, 1956 with effect from 15.02.2000 and 21.06.2006, respectively the University is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC). Vide Government of Orissa Notification No. I-HE/U-21/98. 32930 University was established in the year 1998. With B+ grade with effect from 9th June, 2017 University is accredited by National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC). The northern part of Odisha, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts are covered by territorial jurisdiction of the University. Chancellor of the University is Honorable Governor of Orissa.
North Orissa University M.Phil Areas
North Orissa University offers M.Phil program in various subjects. University has announced notifications for admission to these subjects in M.Phil program in the areas of Biotechnology, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, Zoology, Santal.
North Orissa University Eligibility criteria
For admission to M.Phil. programme North Orissa University Candidate should have a Master’s degree by this University or any other affiliated University with at least 55% marks in aggregate. A relaxation of 5% of marks, from 55% to 50%, will be allowed to reserved categories (SC/ST/VJNT/OBC). Candidate who are below the poverty line will also get relaxation during the admission process. The merit list will be made on category wise and if a seat belonging to SC/ST/VJNT/OBC category is not filled then it is given to candidate belonging to General category.
North Orissa University Duration for M.Phil
Candidate shall apply for extension of registration of M.Phil. Other wise Minimum duration for M.Phil. programme will be of two consecutive semesters/ one year and a maximum of four consecutive semesters / two years.
North Orissa University Entrance Test
Candidate will be selected on the base of the Entrance Test. The Entrance Test will be based on Research Methodology consisted in the Test. On University Website details of syllabus for the Entrance Test are available. Duration for the exam will be two hours. Entrance Examination will be offline/online. The candidate who have Cleared NET or any equivalent test will not have to attempt the Entrance Test. He will directly get admission on the base of remaining seats. Candidate who have cleared NET or any equivalent test can directly apply for interview. The merit list will be made on category wise and if a seat belonging to SC/ST/VJNT/OBC category is not filled then it is given to candidate belonging to General category.
