Birsa Agricultural University is a public university recognized by the University Grants Commision (UGC). It was founded on 26th June 1981 and inaugurated by the then Prime Minister of India, Late Smt. Indira Gandhi. The university is situated at Kanke, 10 km from Ranchi city & 13 km from Ranchi Railway Station. Its jurisdiction covers all 24 districts of the state. Birsa Agricultural University (BAU) has 3 faculties (Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry and Forestry) with 35 departments, 6 Directorates, 3 Zonal Research Stations, and farms, 1 University farm, 16 Krishi Vigyan Kendras, and 1 Computer Centre. For M.Sc Agriculture:-
- Candidates should have a B.Sc Agriculture / Horticulture or equivalent degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade from this university or from any other recognized university or institute.
For MBA
- Candidates should have a graduate level degree in the concerned stream with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate or equivalent CGPA from any recognized university or institute.
For Ph.D.
- Candidates should have a master's degree in the relevant stream with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade from any recognized university or institute.
