Gangadhar Meher University was established in 1944 as Sambalpur College. The name of the university is named after an illustrious Oriya poet in 1949 and was changed to Gangadhar Meher College. IT is situated in a tribal dominated part of Orissa for excellence in its way to fulfill its goal and mission since then and strives hard for excellence in its way. University is imparting education outside the country also with the recent trend of globalisation and internationalisation of education.
