With great efforts by the Kanataka Government, Karnataka Sanskrit University was established in 2010. In Karnataka univesity There are 31 Samskrit colleges . There has predominantly four wings in Karnataka Samskrit University Teaching Wing, Research Wing, Publication Wing, Administrative Wing.
Objectives and Educational Activities
- To promote the traditional system of learning in Vedic, Agamic and Cognate Literature and to preserve, foster
- To facilitate and regulate advance study and research in the fields like Ancient Sciences. Agama Shastra. Ayurvedic Sciences. Humanities.
- Entire corpus of manuscripts and Samskrit texts to be computerize and digitize
Karnataka Samskrit University Duration for M.Phil
Duration of course is 1 year or 2 semester. The course start in july every year and will come to an end by June, the following year. Study of Research Methodology will be coursework for the first six months.

The entrance examination will be a written examination. It will conducted only in the Bangalore center. It will contain the following parts.
Command over language (1 mark questions): 20 marks
General knowledge regarding Darshanas, Shastras,Vedas, etc (1 mark questions): 30 marks
Notes/Essay on a general topic: 20 marks
Essay on a topic in the field of study: 30 marks

Candidate can submit a DD for Rs. 300 for candidates belonging to SC/ST/ Rs.150 .Application forms can be obtaining in favour of The Finance Officer, Karnataka Samskrit University, Chamarajapet, Bangalore 560018. Candidate can download admisison form from the website and apply for admission. Candidates should ensure, that the course is offered in the latest prospectus and he fulfill the eligibility criteria. Application form should be filled clearly and fully. Incomplete form will be rejected.While submitting the form they should ensure that all the details are correct and follow the rules of the university. For upload mark sheets on the admission portal scan them. Application form should be submitted along with prescribed entrance test fee.
Karnataka Samskrit University Sports Facilities
Sports activities are supported by the University in the University and its Constituent/ Affiliated colleges. The University conducts team selection trials to participate in the Inter–Collegiate Tournaments & Inter-University Tournament and coaching camps for both in-door and out-doors games enabling students. No smoking Areas are declared all the Post Graduate Campuses coming under the jurisdiction of this University. Severe punishment will be given to any violation in this regard.
