LLB is an undergraduate course offered by many law colleges and universities across the nation for the graduate in any discipline. It is the most common undergraduate course of law education. The course is also offered as B.L. OR Bachelor of Legislative Law OR Bachelor of Law in the certain institute or certain regions. There are two options to pursue this course. One is the 3-year course for which the minimum eligibility criterion is graduation and the other is the integrated course of 5-year duration for undergraduate students. L.L.B. course is divided into six semesters in most of the law universities.

LLB (Bachelor of Legislative Law) Eligibility Criteria

The minimum educational qualification required for L.L.B. Admission is listed below:

  • Successful completion of graduation in any discipline.
  • Minimum 45% marks in graduation are required for general category and 40% for reserved categories.
  • There is no age limit for taking admission in LLB course.

Note:- Candidates who are in final year of their graduation can also apply for entrance tests conducted for LLB admissions.

Generally, the duration of the LLB course is 3 (three) years or 6 (six) semesters.

LLB (Bachelor of Legislative Law) Admission Process

Candidates will be selected on the basis of marks obtained by candidates in qualifying degree or through a relevant entrance test. 

LLB Entrance Test In India

There are various entrance tests conducted for LLB admission in India. A list of entrance exams for admission to the course has been mentioned below:

  • CLAT- Common Law Entrance Test is conducted by National Law Universities
  • LSAT- Law School Admission Test is a globalized entrance test
  • AILET- All India Law Entrance Test is conducted by National Law University, Delhi
  • LAWCET- Law Common Entrance Test is conducted by colleges and universities in Andhra Pradesh

LLB Entrance Exam Pattern

The entrance exam paper is an objective paper of 200 marks of two hours exam. The questions are mainly divided into 6 parts, they are;
